Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA) situated in Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, invites everyone to attend its latest exhibition Banksy 360°: Art of the Rebel, which is devoted to this mysterious world-famous street artist. It will be open to the public until the 30th of June, 2023.
The show provides a unique 360° experience. It gives one a can’t-miss opportunity to see 50+ of the artist’s murals come alive across the venue’s immersive space that covers 1,800 sq m. Among the artworks on view are iconic Flower Thrower, Laugh Now, Show me the Monet, and Balloon Girl. Visitors have 30 minutes to explore the exhibition and try to decipher burning and provocative messages hidden in Banksy’s works.
Banksy (born in Bristol, England) is not only a street artist, but also a political activist and film director residing in England. Although he has been active since the 1990s, his real name and identity have still remained unconfirmed. The graffiti works belonging to the “brush” of the artist can be found on streets, walls, and bridges in multiple countries.
Always working at night, Banksy executes his artworks in a stencilling technique. He creates stencils in advance and uses spray paint to quickly apply his designs to walls or other surfaces. It lets him not spend much time in public spaces and avoid detection, which helps him stay anonymous. Once an artwork is created, Banksy confirms ownership of it on his official Instagram account.
