Today, the 17th iteration of DIFC Art Nights, one of the major art events held in Dubai, will take place at the Gate Village in Dubai International Financial Centre. This exciting event which blends art, culture, music, and entertainment will last until tomorrow, the 8th of March.
DIFC Art Nights presents multiple art galleries and prominent auction houses from all over the globe which include, for example, Christie’s Middle East and MIA Art. It features numerous works (paintings, sculptures, photographs, murals, and many more) by both Emirati and international artists. This edition of the event particularly focuses on celebrating the talent of local creatives. Visitors can look at the artworks by Amna Al Banna, Nour Abu Ghaidaa, Rabab Al Tantawy, and Salim Al Kaabi, to name a few. Besides, among DIFC Art Nights’ highlights is the FLTRD Art Nights retail pop-up, which celebrates a selection of brands at the event.
Apart from admiring diverse art, you can also participate in several panel discussions. On March 7, at 7 PM, Christie’s will hold a talk session on How to Start Your Art Collection featuring Meagan Kelly Horsman (Managing Director for Christie’s Middle East and North Africa). As the title suggests, the participants will learn about various important things related to the subject (from research to market analysis) and get some tips. At 8 PM, a panel talk titled Frieda Kahlo Reimagined: From Iconic Canvases to Fashion and Digital Realms by Istituto Marangoni will be held. Tomorrow, on March 8, one will have an opportunity to join Reshaping Narratives: Empowering Women Through Art on International Women’s Day, a discussion session dedicated to the role of art in empowering women.
