Every night spectators are impressed by two extraordinary drone performances at 7 pm and 10 pm. Be sure to come to Bluewaters or The Beach, JBR and see a magic. According to Kaltham Alshamsi from the DFRE, which organises the event, the show is a result of months of hard work involving over a hundred employees. “The best feeling is during the testing night when everything you envisioned comes to life,” she said. “It is very fulfilling.”
More than 500 drones have been lighting up the night skies of the city. Telling the story of two Dubai’s, one of the past and one of the future, the mesmerizing display of color and creativity has become an integral part of the festival.
The story revolves around the symbolic Pearl of Dubai, representing not just wealth but also the captivating allure of the city. As the tale unfolds, the Pearl becomes a multifaceted symbol, embodying Dubai’s dreams, aspirations, and enduring spirit.
The impressive show kicks off every night with an image of a fairy-tale book opening. The image of a pearl diver pays homage to the UAE’s historic activity of pearl diving and its contribution in turning Dubai to the city that it is. It is an activity that goes back at least 1,000 years.
There is a very beautiful and symbolic part of the show paying homage to the past and giving a salute to the future with images of a pearl diver and astronaut reaching for the same pearl the drone show.
