From 12 to 18 November 2025, the 2nd edition of the Dhai Dubai Light Festival, organised in partnership with Dubai Culture, will illuminate Al Wasl Plaza and its surroundings in Expo City Dubai. Held under the theme Light Influences Life, this edition explores how light shapes our memories, architecture, and everyday experiences. Across the week, visitors will encounter projection shows, immersive installations, and interactive artworks that turn the plaza into a luminous celebration of art, innovation, and imagination.
At the heart of the festival, Al Wasl Dome, one of the largest 360-degree projection surfaces in the world, will host a series of mesmerising shows that merge storytelling, music, and digital artistry. Around it, the open-air spaces of Expo City will come alive with glowing sculptures, kinetic light pieces, and participatory experiences that invite reflection on the connection between technology, heritage, and nature.

This year’s edition of the festival focuses on seven Emirati artists, each commissioned to create original works that examine the spiritual, emotional, and cultural resonance of light within Emirati identity. Among them are Fatma Lootah, Mohammed Kazem, and Khalid Al Banna. Lootah’s emotive abstract works convey a deep sense of cultural memory, while Kazem is famous for his experimental use of sound and light. Al Banna brings his distinctive geometric and textile-based approach to the festival’s theme.
Among the participants are jewellery designer Alia Bin Omair, who blends traditional Emirati motifs with contemporary aesthetics, and architect and designer Al Zaina Lootah, who draws on heritage and architectural form. The lineup also features Ahmad AlAreef, whose multidisciplinary work explores storytelling and heritage through visual art, and Hessa Alghandi, who investigates memory and identity through objects and spatial design.

The Dhai Dubai experience extends beyond visual spectacle. One will be able to take part in workshops, talks, and family activities designed to encourage creative exploration and public participation. Sustainability remains central to the festival’s ethos, building on collaborations with Liter of Light, a global initiative that promotes environmentally conscious illumination in underserved communities.
All in all, the Dhai Dubai Light Festival invites audiences to rediscover the transformative power of light as a source of beauty and wonder and as a language that connects art, technology, and humanity.
