In collaboration with Dubai Culture, World Art Dubai (WAD), the most prominent art fair in the region which was launched in 2015, is set to be held in the World Trade Centre from May 2 to May 5, 2024. Running under the theme “Unplug Yourself”, the event’s landmark 10th iteration features more than 400 esteemed galleries and solo creatives from over 60 countries. Aiming to bring affordable art to the Middle Eastern market, the art fair presents 4,000+ various works (paintings, sculptures, digital art pieces, and many others) for every taste and wallet.

WAD 2024 comprises 12 pavilions dedicated to countries and regions, such as Japan, India, China, Turkey, Iran, America, Asia, Russia, the UAE, Europe, the UK, and Arabia. The Emirati and GCC pavilions highlight the talent of residents calling Dubai home and citizens, demonstrating how the two populations exist and interact in their creativity.

Apart from the art showcase, WAD also offers a full range of exciting activities. Visitors can participate in different workshops (for example, drawing or soy candle making) and enjoy art performances, which include, for instance, the Art Walk by WAD exhibitors and artists, a calligraphy performance, and even a live painting session. In addition, one is invited to join a series of curated talks and panel discussions on different art-related topics. These include “How Design Can Integrate Art”, “Exploring Fine Craft and the Development of a Collection”, and “Graffiti Art in Dubai”, to name a few.

The list of key events taking place during the art fair includes the WAD Awards, Urban Art DXB (an exhibit of regional street art featuring live street art, freestyle dances, urban fashion, etc.), and Future Artists. The latter is an art competition for talented children. This year, young creatives delve into the theme “Expressions of Emotions”, expressing their feelings through art. The 10th edition of the World Art Dubai also presents a new segment: the WAD Tourism Art Tour designed for exhibitors that takes them on a captivating journey through the rich diversity of cultural offerings in the Emirates.
