The presidential palace of the UAE, Qasr Al Watan, invites visitors to attend an impressive Arabic calligraphy exhibition called “In the love of Zayed”. It is dedicated to the founding father of the UAE Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan and everything he has given to the people of the Emirates.
At the exhibition taking place at the Great Hall of the palace, different Emirati artists present their beautiful artworks: the Sheikh’s quotes and poems represented with the help of calligraphy. There are 41 paintings in total which let one catch a glimpse of the founding father’s personality.
Qasr Al Watan is a great place for visitors to learn a lot about the UAE’s formation, the governing traditions and values. The palace became open to the public in 2019. From the architectural point of view, it is truly an embodiment of majesty. Ornately decorated, the presidential palace includes the central chamber (The Great Hall) and two wings.
The eastern wing has the “House of Knowledge”. Here, one can look at numerous artefacts, such as religious texts and gifts of officials from other countries. Besides, there is an extensive library, where more than 50,000 books on different aspects of the Emirates’ history are stored. The western wing of the palace is used for official purposes.
The exhibition “In the love of Zayed” is open to visitors until the 27th of July, 2022. A ticket for Qasr al Watan costs AED 65 for adults and AED 30 for children.
