This Tuesday, on the 30th of August, 2022, Tashkeel’s artist-in-residence Alonsa Guevara, a Chilean contemporary realist oil painter, will lead a group session discussing participants’ artworks. The talk session will start at 9:30 am and last until 11:30 am at Tashkeel Nad Al Sheba. The fee is AED 50.00 (+VAT) per person.
The participants are welcome to bring one completed artwork of their creation to discuss it with Alonsa Guevara herself.
Alonsa Guevara is a New York-based artist who is originally from Chile. The artist’s works show an imaginary universe where the lines between fantasy and reality are blurred. In her art, Alonsa Guevara studies questions of womanhood, identity and belonging at the same time celebrating the connection between humankind and nature.
The artist has been heavily inspired by the fact that she has lived in three different countries. The life in the Ecuadorian jungle with her family when she was a child especially influenced her.

Being Tashkeel’s artist-in-residence, Alonsa Guevara has engaged with the community, gaining a deep understanding of UAE contemporary art and design practice. Not only she conducts her own experimentation and research, she also leads workshops, masterclasses and courses for schools, universities, youth and fine art practitioners.
Moreover, Alonsa Guevara has designed the three covers of the latest series of Tashkeel Sketchbooks. They are available from the Tashkeel Shop, Nad Al Sheba and retailers across the UAE.
Tashkeel Tuesday Talk was launched in May 2022 and is held every last Tuesday of each month. Tashkeel’s artist-in-residence Alonsa Guevara leads the talks.
