The Firetti Contemporary gallery in Dubai has partnered with Moser, a renowned Czech luxury glassware manufacturer based in Karlovy Vary, to organise a captivating exhibition that blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary art. Everyone is welcome to attend this show until the 4th of July, 2024.

Moser was founded by engraver and businessman Ludwig Moser in 1857. It has maintained its legacy by passing down secret techniques through generations. Even today, the company’s glass pieces are handcrafted by skilled artisans without the use of automated machines, thus preserving the brand’s heritage. Moser’s exceptional works are made of extremely hard glass developed by Ludwig Moser himself. It is lead-free, which makes it an eco-friendly material.

The exhibition at Firetti Contemporary pays tribute to more than 160 years of Moser’s glassmaking expertise, showcasing both the firm’s historical works and its newest creations inspired by the art pieces of multidisciplinary Emirati artist Salmah Almansoori. The show also features I Reminisce in Colours, her series of abstract watercolour paintings.

Central to Almansoori’s work, which delves into the intersections of place and memory, is the idea that a place is not just a physical location; it can be crucial to understanding how our identities are formed. The artist believes that physical spaces absorb thoughts, emotions, and memories. The I Reminisce in Colours series explores the various landscapes of Ghayathi, Almansoori’s hometown which has shaped her identity. In her paintings, through intricate mark-making and layering of bright yet gentle colours, the artist conveys her experiences and emotions.
