Firetti Contemporary has organised Astral Space Exploration: The Cosmic Renaissance, a solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Kaikhan Salakhov. This fascinating show investigates the intersection of science, art, and spirituality, as Salakhov’s work uncovers the geometric patterns symbolising complex cosmic principles and future challenges humanity may encounter. The exhibition will welcome all visitors until 18 November 2024.
According to Salakhov, in this exhibition, he reflects on and celebrates pivotal advancements shaping the future, such as space exploration, robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and sustainable environmental practices on Earth and beyond. The show centres on his Astral Space Exploration Model of Consciousness (ASX-Grid), a system representing physical and spiritual evolution for cosmic civilisations. The system comprises eight stages of cosmic development, highlighting the potential for civilisations to evolve across the universe. This concept and a series of related art pieces have been a decade-long project for the artist.

The exhibition presents 36 engrossing acrylic paintings that merge the aesthetics of Renaissance art with modern scientific concepts. Through the ASX-Grid, Salakhov explores potential future challenges in different fields, from architecture and robotics to economics and philosophy. Each painting is dedicated to a specific topic and paired with a text which explains the meaning of this work and poses questions for viewers to think about and try to answer.
Salakhov’s symbolic geometric language draws from 36 concepts across various disciplines, including science and science fiction, ranging from quantum physics to cosmic awareness. His paintings encourage one to engage with these geometric forms, revealing the problems and potential solutions embedded within the artworks.

About the artist
Kaikhan Salakhov (b. 1993, New York, USA) is an American-Azerbaijani artist, writer, musician, architect, curator, philosopher, and actor. In 2011, Kaikhan graduated from Moscow Architectural Institute (Russia); the same year, he spent time in a Buddhist monastery in Singapore. He later studied architecture at Vienna Polytechnic University (Austria) and sculpture at the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts (Italy).
Salakhov’s work focuses on themes of interstellar exploration and the evolution of consciousness, drawing inspiration from Star Wars, the Foundation series by Isaac Asimov, and the works of American writer Ken Wilber and Indian philosopher Sri Aurobindo. As the founder of Astral Space Exploration (ASX), Salakhov developed Cosmocybernetic Art, a framework that examines the evolution of space civilisations through cybernetic principles. The artist even created a language, Cosmocybernetic Hieroglyphics (2017), and a rune system, Cosmocybernetic Runes (2018). In general, through his art, Salakhov portrays a future where humanity balances technological advancement and spiritual growth, offering a thought-provoking perspective on the evolution of consciousness across the cosmos.

Salakhov has showcased his artworks in several shows and art events, such as BoulveArt Exhibition (Art In Space 360 Gallery, Dubai, 2023); NFT at MetaVentures (Phuket, Thailand, 2022); Infinity (solo) (Ekaterina Foundation, Moscow, 2021); and Cosmoscow Art Fair 2019 (Moscow), to name a few. In 2018, the artist was among the participants in the Maurizio Caaelan competition. He also took part in the UNESCO competition (2018 and 2017), where his sculptures Mechanism Of The Cosmos and Cosmos received second-degree diplomas.
