The discussion will be centered on Dubai Public Art, the new government initiative. Within this programme, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority will encourage Emirati artists to expand their practice in public art by working together with Tashkeel, Alserkal, Art Jameel, and Akaas Visual Arts. The art organisations will issue open calls to all artists, offering them the platform to present a series of site-specific art installations.
The artists chosen for the inaugural commission will take part in the panel.

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Iwona Blazwick (Chair of the Royal Commission for Al-‘Ula’s Public Art Expert Panel), Mariam Zulfiqar (Director of Artangel), and Sherry Dobbin (Global Cultural Advisor) will share their opinion on the future of public art and the part it plays in shaping communities and public spaces.
