Today, 14 February, Picasso Gallery in Al Quoz, Dubai, will host Beat Boutique, a free pop-up solo exhibition by Argentinian artist Ornella Ruiz Diaz. Open from 5 PM to 9 PM, the show features a striking collection of paintings that transport viewers into imaginary landscapes, infused with the bold aesthetics of the 1960s.

The exhibition presents a diverse range of abstract artworks, from small and medium-sized pieces to a monumental large-format painting. Ornella draws significant inspiration from her collection of vintage dresses from the ’60s and ’70s, which she cherishes and wears. Created over two years in Argentina, her paintings burst with vibrant colours, dynamic compositions, and rich textures, embodying the free-spirited and experimental essence of the era.

A standout piece is Imperio, Ornella’s largest painting to date, measuring 8 x 4 metres. This artwork will also be showcased in VR, allowing visitors to step inside its abstract world and explore its intricate details. The VR experience extends further, featuring the artist’s NFTs and seamlessly blending her physical and digital artistic expressions. In addition, the show displays a 5-metre curved canvas painted in Dubai, which captures Ornella’s journey and artistic exploration during her time in the Middle East.
