Artbooth Gallery presents Summered, a collective exhibition that unites ten acclaimed artists whose diverse practices span continents and perspectives. On display until 7 September 2025, the show invites visitors to enter a space where summer is more than just a season: it is a state of mind, an inner climate where nature, memory, and imagination converge.
Each artwork unveils a fragment of personal experience that opens onto shared reflection. USA-born artist Soraya Abu Naba’a, whose works explore diverse themes, from abstraction to personal and collective identity, contributes her vibrant, dreamlike florals. Lebanese-Italian artist Gilbert Halaby creates colourful abstract expressionist and figurative canvases inspired by his birthplace in Mount Lebanon and the idea of home. Halaby also paint various states and scenes he witnesses daily, particularly in Rome, where he lives.
Abu Dhabi-based artist and educator James Matthews often employs printmaking techniques (woodcuts, monoprinting, embossing, etc.) in his practice. The exhibition showcases his works shaped by his international perspective. Syrian artist Asaad Arabi‘s paintings reflect his connection to his hometown, Damascus, investigating how cities and their inhabitants shape cultural identity.

Lebanese-Brazilian artist Habuba Farah infuses geometric abstraction with rhythm and lyricism, while in his hand-carved stone sculptures, Italian-Syrian sculptor Elias Naman captures raw, enduring emotions. Syrian artist Noor Bahjat displays paintings portraying a world where memory, urban landscapes, and identity merge.
Visitors can have a look at works by Palestinian-Syrian-Dutch artist Oussama Diab, whose work confronts the contradictions of political conflict, exile, and globalisation. Also on view are Lebanese artist Layal Khawly‘s paintings, which trace the intricate textures of Lebanon’s landscapes, and Uruguayan-Lebanese artist Bruno Sfeir‘s surrealist art pieces.

A celebration of sunlight and colour, the Summered exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the inner landscapes and encourages them to see the world anew. The participating artists form a chorus of distinct voices, each contributing to a shared pursuit: revealing the unseen layers of memory, belonging, and the self.
