Threads of Light: Stories from the Tasweer Single Image Awards is a photography exhibition currently on display at Company House, Msheireb Museums, in Msheireb Downtown Doha. Featuring 31 captivating images from the 2023 and 2024 Tasweer Single Image Awards, the show presents a vibrant mix of documentary, street photography, and artistic expression. Selected from hundreds of submissions, these photographs form a vivid tapestry of visual storytelling that spans borders and sensibilities.

Part of the third iteration of the Tasweer Photo Festival organised by Qatar Museums and Msheireb Museums, Threads of Light is curated by Sheikha Maryam Hassan Mohamed A. Al Thani, Consultant Curator in the Exhibitions Department at Qatar Museums. The exhibition is free to the public and will remain open until 20 June 2025.

Spanning 12 countries across Western Asia and North Africa, the photographs draw viewers into scenes of personal intimacy, cultural rituals, and everyday life, revealing the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary. The images include family portraits in Cairo apartments, folkloric celebrations in Saudi Arabia, daily life in Palestinian refugee camps, and quiet moments in the Qatari desert. The selected photographers approach their subjects with different methods and turn fleeting moments into lasting records of cultural resilience, continuity, and change.

Threads of Light offers more than aesthetic beauty; it stages a visual dialogue on identity, memory, and transformation. Whether documenting disappearing architectural heritage, capturing candid joy, or presenting conceptual work that reframes dominant narratives, the photographers collectively explore what it means to belong and evolve in a rapidly shifting region.
