Until 11 August 2025, Kutubna Cultural Center, an independent bookstore and literary hub founded in 2023 in Nadd Al Hamar (Dubai), is hosting Abstract Art Exhibition: Abstract Visions, Infinite Interpretations. Curated by Nora Qudah, it features 15 UAE-based artists representing 12 countries, such as Sudan, India, Iraq, Morocco, and Algeria, among others.

Showcasing more than 25 art pieces, the exhibition examines abstraction as a powerful visual language for expressing memory, identity, nature, and emotion. Visitors are invited to encounter a wide spectrum of techniques and aesthetic voices. Each work offers a deeply personal or culturally resonant narrative that transcends spoken language.
The featured creatives include Sudanese artists Miska Mohmmed (b. 1995) and Dr. Ashraf Abdelmonim Mohamed Ibrahim (b. 1980). Mohmmed’s Mindscapes translates emotion, memory, and natural elements into abstracted landscapes, while Dr. Ibrahim brings nearly two decades of experience in research, teaching, and studio practice, focusing on mixed media and the representation of landscape.

Designer and graffiti artist Ahmed Amine Aitouche (Sneakhotep) (b. 1990, Algeria) presents calligraphic and geometric works that challenge historical and social norms. Iraqi artist and designer Lina Al Dabbagh (b. 1998) channels personal memories and emotional landscapes into bold abstract forms that reflect her sensitivity to environment and experience.
Armenian poet and artist Hasmik Chakhalyan (b. 1991) draws from memories of her homeland, the human soul, and the emotional resilience of women, while Moroccan artist Youness Siraj Mounir (Yun K) (b. 1983) is inspired by the beauty of life, music, nature, and emotional complexity. Russian-born artist Alina O’Dwyer (b. 1983) presents vibrant, visually captivating compositions.

Emirati artists Salama Almazrouei and Hend Rashed also contribute compelling works. Almazrouei merges traditional Emirati motifs with contemporary techniques in mixed media and portraiture, delving into themes of identity, heritage, and femininity. Rashed offers vivid, imaginative pieces rooted in personal emotions, inner challenges, and lived experience.
The exhibition also features Indian artists Tumpa Banerjee (b. 1979), Haafiza Ajaz Sayed (b. 1969), and Irudhayanathan Thangaraj (b. 1986). Banerjee’s colourful, textured paintings evoke emotional resonance and open-ended interpretation. Ajaz Sayed deconstructs landscapes into essential emotional impressions, prioritising the feeling of a place over its literal depiction, while Thangaraj explores a wide range of styles, from portraiture to abstraction.

A special section of the show highlights emerging youth artists whose fresh approaches and expressions signal the growing popularity of abstract art among the next generation. Featured artists include Aya Qubbaj (Palestine/Canada), Zeena Al Zubi (Jordan), and Aras Bildik (Turkey).
