Digital Extravaganza at ToDA

Theatre of Digital Art (ToDA) located in Souk Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, gives one an opportunity to experience art in an unusual way: being at the Theatre, visitors feel as if they were a part of the exhibited artworks. Such an effect is created with the help of the Theater’s space itself, which is 1,800 m2, a 360-degrees projection of images all over the walls and ceiling and a high quality surround sound.

Now, ToDA invites everyone to touch the future and catch a glimpse of other dimensions at its exhibition titled Digital Extravaganza. It features several perspectives and forms of digital art, including virtual and augmented reality. Here, viewers become travelers on a journey to unknown lands across the Earth and other galaxies through the Metaverse gallery.

‘Refuge/Refuse’ by French digital sculptor Arnaud Laffond

Entering the exhibition, visitors are greeted by SYNTI, a 3D holographic figure connected to a language bot. This young female robot figure is a representation of artificial intelligence. “She” introduces short digital film-like artworks which the main visual show consists of. The artworks created by six internationally famous artists from different countries are being displayed on enormous screens inside the auditorium of the Theatre. At the exhibition, there are also 10 winning artworks from the open call placed in the Metaverse gallery and minted into the NFTs.

‘Afterlife’ by Luna Ikuta

Among the exhibited projects are, for example, Luna Ikuta’s Afterlife, which brings to life botanical arrangements from film and digital archives, and A special world: a friendly future by Russian artist Daniil Zuev (Darkzuu) — a series based on drawings by children with developmental challenges.

SYNTI discusses the showpieces with the audience, so one doesn’t have to worry that there will be no one for them to discuss the digital art. Besides the chance to chat with AI, the exhibition offers the visitor to spend 15 minutes in a VR Room, where they can become a protagonist in the artwork.

Digital Extravaganza is open until the 31st of August.

Entry Ticket: AED 100
Child Entry Ticket (from 3 to 12 years old): AED 50
