Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF) invites everyone to take part in its series of workshops for adults. Participants’ minimum age must be 17+. The events will take place on Mondays to Thursdays, from September 5 until September 22, 2022. The workshops will be held at Sharjah Art Institute, Arts Area, Al Shuweiheen. The registration fee for each workshop is AED 200. All materials needed will be provided by Sharjah Art Foundation.
The topic of one of the workshops is the principles of screen printing: a process during which a stencilled design is transferred onto a flat surface using a mesh screen, ink and a squeegee. Participants will learn about some techniques in different methods and create their own art piece. They will be taught how to stretch silk on wood. They will also learn about the materials which are used for insulation to print geometric and plant shapes.
In the second workshop, Building a Painting, one will learn about the concept of composition and its crucial role in creating modern and contemporary paintings. Besides, participants will be told about the ability of materials to influence and give a special sensitivity to art pieces.
Each of the workshops will start at 4:00 pm and end at 8:00 pm.
