The Warehouse in Dubai presents Resonance, an exhibition featuring five contemporary artists whose diverse practices converge around themes of connection, emotion, memory, and cultural exchange. The show reflects the dynamic character of Dubai itself: a city shaped by movement, encounters, and the coexistence of multiple perspectives. Through painting, mixed media, abstraction, and expressive visual languages, Resonance invites visitors to consider the invisible forces that link people, places, and experiences. Presented by Beirut Art Magazine and curated by Mirna El Osta, the exhibition will remain open to the public until 15 June 2026.
Hosted at The Warehouse, a creative venue nestled within Goshi Warehouse Village in Al Quoz, the exhibition continues the space’s commitment to supporting emerging and established artistic voices while fostering dialogue between artists and audiences. Known for combining a contemporary exhibition programme with a welcoming social environment, The Warehouse has become a notable destination within Dubai’s expanding cultural landscape. Resonance builds on this mission by displaying works that encourage reflection on how personal histories, emotions, and cultural influences interact and reverberate across communities.
The exhibition’s title serves as a conceptual framework for the artists’ collective presentation. Resonance refers not only to the physical phenomenon of vibration but also to the emotional and psychological echoes that artworks can generate within viewers. Across the exhibition, colour, texture, gesture, and form become vehicles for exploring these subtle connections.
Among the presented artists is Dasha Zveruga, known for the expressive use of colour. Her paintings frequently balance spontaneity and structure, creating compositions that appear fluid while remaining carefully orchestrated. The sources of her inspiration include people around her, different cultures, the animal world, and her dreams. In her work, Zveruga examines the connection between internal states and external environments; she translates feelings and sensory impressions into vivid visual experiences. Within Resonance, her contributions introduce a dynamic energy that complements the exhibition’s broader exploration of human connection and emotional exchange.
Another participant, British artist Mia Palmer, who has moved to Dubai, is recognised for creating large-scale, vibrant works that often feature female faces. Her mixed-media paintings explore themes such as the subconscious mind, human potential, and the transformation between who we are and who we are becoming, according to the artist herself.
Artist and writer Mahnoor Ali Gilani brings a nuanced perspective shaped by cultural hybridity and contemporary identity. Her practice, which encompasses painting and filmmaking, often investigates themes of belonging, memory, womanhood, care, and transformation. Gilani’s artworks prompt viewers to reflect on their own experiences of place, migration, and cultural inheritance. Her contribution enriches the exhibition’s dialogue around the diverse experiences that shape contemporary life.
Also on display are works by Abd Challah and Marwan Cherkaoui. Cherkaoui, who left a successful career as a dentist to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming an artist, explores the internal human struggle and the intricacies of human connection through a neo-expressionist lens. Using painting as a tool to overcome self-doubt and redefine his identity, Cherkaoui developed a practice that speaks to resilience, authenticity, and personal transformation. In 2025, he received the Best Artist Award at the Geoje International Art Festival in South Korea.
Although each of the featured artists employs a distinct visual language, Resonance succeeds in creating meaningful connections between their practices. The exhibition demonstrates how contemporary art can function as a space for dialogue, where different backgrounds and experiences coexist without losing their individuality. The show celebrates difference and exchange, highlighting how artistic practices can resonate across cultural and geographical boundaries.

In the context of Dubai’s art scene, Resonance reflects the city’s role as a meeting point for international creative voices. The participating artists bring diverse perspectives, yet their works share an interest in the emotional and cultural dimensions of contemporary experience. Together, they create a presentation that feels both personal and collective, rooted in individual expression while remaining open to broader conversations about identity, memory, and belonging.
Resonance proposes an encounter between artists and audiences, between different cultural perspectives, and between the visible and invisible forces that shape human experience. Through its thoughtful curation, the show encourages visitors to slow down, engage deeply, and discover the many ways in which art can generate lasting emotional and intellectual connections.
