The exhibition The Light in Between, which is being held at the Cultural Foundation, is a result of the collaborative work between artist Mohammed Kazem and poet Adel Khozam. It’s an installation of 53 paper-based works, in which poetry and light are fused together, suggesting a glimpse into the fleeting moments of our daily lives.

“I am fascinated by collecting and documenting information about seemingly unimportant objects, traces of our present, within a particular environment”, Mohammed Kazem says, speaking about his own art. He was born in 1969, Dubai. He is an internationally famous contemporary artist, who works in video, photography, and performance. Trained as a musician, Kazem is engaged with developing processes that can render transient phenomena, such as sound and light, in tangible terms.

Adel Khozam, an Emirati poet, is a composer, journalist, and member of many media committees in the United Arab Emirates. He is much involved in both the international & Arab poetry scene. His poems were translated into several languages, including English, French, Hindi, and German. His last novel “Life in Third Eye” translated into English received great critical attention in the US: it won the Golden Seal for featured books in literature. Besides, it was nominated for the Eric Hoffer Award for Independent Publication in America.
