Reading: < 1 min

SAF summer art school Week 3 starts. It includes different workshops for Children and Families. On the 24th of July, 2022, interesting workshops for different ages will take place. The languages spoken are English and Arabic. All materials needed will be provided by Sharjah Art Foundation.

The Cardboard portraits workshop for children aged from 6 to 10  will take place at Collections Building, Arts Square, starting from 11:00 am and until 1:00 pm. Here, following a technique of creating collage compositions,  children will be offered to create portraits using cut pieces of cardboard. They will begin working on a flat board, draw an outline and, afterwards, make their artwork with pieces of various shapes to create a full face.

The Hand-building pottery workshop is designed for children aged from 11 to 15. The event will take place at Gallery 4, Al Mureijah Art Spaces, and will last from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. In this workshop, an introduction to pottery will be made. Participants will be explained the basic methods for hand-building with clay strips, pressure and clay sculpting. After that, they will try to make their own pottery with the use of hand-building techniques.

Hand-building pottery workshop is an opportunity to create something new, unique, which can be presented as a gift to a loved one. This is handmade, which is highly valued, a unique piece of art that you will not be able to repeat and it cannot be compared with the one bought in a shop.

Sharjah Art Foundation aims at making it possible for anyone with special needs to attend these events. Please, contact the Sharjah Art Foundation in advance to arrange any support needed during this session.
