The kanvas art space based in Dubai invites everyone to attend their latest digital exhibition dedicated to Hatshepsut, the remarkable Queen Pharaoh. While immersed in the mesmerising atmosphere of ancient Egypt thanks to the 270º wall and floor projections, visitors can learn about her life and explore the empire’s beliefs and traditions. This educational show will be open to the public until the 18th of February, 2024.
Hatshepsut reigned Egypt from 1478 to 1458 BCE, during the Eighteenth Dynasty. She ascended to the throne as co-regent with her nephew Thutmose III, who was only two years old at that time. Hatshepsut, who ruled longer than any of the previous female rulers of Egypt, is considered one of the most successful pharaohs. Under her essentially peaceful reign, which was essentially peaceful, the country prospered: she focused on ensuring economic prosperity (which included establishing trade networks), building, and restoration. Hatshepsut commissioned multiple construction projects and statuary. These include obelisks and monuments at the Temple of Karnak as well as her Mortuary temple Djeser-Djeseru (“holiest of holy places”) devoted to Egyptian gods Amen, Anubis, and Hathor.
