The opening of the Infinity des Lumieres gallery in the UAE in 2021 is the result of a partnership between local company Infinity Art and French Culture Spaces Digital, which has been producing immersive sound and art shows since 2012. Among them – L’Atelier des Lumieres in Paris and Bunker des Lumieres – in South Korea, which were watched by more than 2 million visitors. In total it has 6 monumental digital art centres around the world: Carrières de Lumières, Les Baux-de-Provence, France, Atelier des Lumières, Paris, Bunker des Lumières, Jeju Island, South Korea, Bassins de Lumières, Bordeaux, France, Infinity des Lumières, Dubaï, UAE and The Hall des Lumières, New York, USA (opening in 2022).
For anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the world of the future two digital mind-blowing immersive exhibitions are available at Infinity des Lumières now: DUBAI DATA and Destination Cosmos: The Ultimate Challenge.
The futuristic DUBAI DATA, opened on May 19th, is a special homage dedicated to the city of the future, created exclusively for Infinity des Lumières by the award-winning Ouchhh studio. Here, Dubai city’s data is used as paint, algorithm – as brush. The show redefines the future of art, challenging traditional understandings of creativity and the nature of technology with the help of an epic digital art experience based on knowledge, innovation and multi-sensory immersion.
Destination Cosmos: The Ultimate Challenge is dedicated to space exploration. The exposition is organized in partnership with the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) and the French National Center for Space Studies [CNES]. It takes guests into interstellar space, where supernovae, planets and galaxies are born before their eyes.
The exhibition is a tribute to the UAE’s impressive space achievements. When creating the exposition, photo and video materials made by the Nadezhda space probe and the Emirates Martian Mission were used.
There were three past exhibitions: Van Gogh, Dream Japan and Verse.
The Van Gogh exhibition featured the famous paintings Sunflowers (1888), Starry Night (1889) and Bedroom in Arles (1889). The show used pioneering digital technology, vibrant colours and delicate shapes to mesmerizing music.
At the Dream Japan exhibition, viewers got acquainted with the world of Japanese art of the 19th century, in particular, portraits and landscapes of Hokusai, the artist who created the famous work The Great Wave. Also, there were animations on the theme of geishas and samurai warriors.
Verse was a space journey created by director and composer Thomas Vantz, accompanied by an orchestral piece by Jonathan Fitas. Wondrous images demonstrated the magical beauty and harmonious movement of the cosmos.
Infinity des Lumières is a place to meet and experience innovative shows. Ticket prices are AED125 when purchased in advance for adults, and AED75 for children up to 13 (free for children under 3 years old).
