Syrian artist Ibrahim Al Hamid’s brand new collection of works featuring his never-before-seen artwork is displayed in the Majlis Gallery until March 31.
“Faces are the mirrors of our souls and by reading faces we read our happiness, fears, ambitions, and obsessions. That is why I have expanded the faces in the artworks to dominate the canvas, allowing the features of the faces to be highlighted and to bring all that is going on underneath into the features of the faces,” commented Ibrahim Al Hamid.
Ibrahim Al Hamid was born in Deir El Zor, Syria in 1959. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Damascus University in 1986. He is a member of the Arabs Artists Associations and Journalistic Associations and has had an impressive 22 solo exhibitions in Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, Kuwait, Japan and Venezuela.
Opened in 1989, the Majlis Gallery has become a meeting place for artists and art lovers from across the globe.
