Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi offers great on-site drop-in studios for all ages. There are two studios to choose from: Ceramics and Sculpture Studio and Painting and Drawing Studio.
A “drop-in” class is a class that you are offered to sign up for on the same day you come the scheduled class. There are no long-term tuition fees or you do not need to schedule the class beforehand. Participants just need to show up to the studio the day the class is happening and pay for the single class you would like to take. For people aged 13+, the fee is AED 50 for 2 hours. For children aged 3-12, the fee will be AED 30 for 1.5 hour.
Ceramics and Sculpture Studio and Painting and Drawing Studio are open to visitors daily from 10:00 am until 7:30pm.
MAS Art Studio’s Ceramics and Sculpture Studio Drop-In is aimed at participants interested in developing their making skills. First, there will be a short introduction course. Participants will be provided with access to the Ceramic and Sculpture Studio’s facilities and equipment. After you create your ceramic art work, MAS Art Studio offers to use its dedicated on-site kiln that is used to fire the art pieces.
Painting and Drawing Studio Drop-In gives visitors access to facilities, equipment and tools to create through self-directed practice. A range of drawing and painting supplies are offered for use. They include watercolour, acrylic, and oil paint mediums, easels and brushes. Drawing tools include pens and pencils, charcoal, graphite, ink, watercolour pencils, soft and oil pastels. Moreover, for inspiration and guidance, books and other educational resources are available to participants to browse through.
Also, a variety of paper surfaces are available for use. Though, visitors have to keep in mind that they are not provided by the Studio. If participants want to use them, they are asked to bring their own or canvases are available for purchase at Art Central located on-site.
