Every Wednesday, an inspiring class is being held at the Louvre Abu Dhabi museum for anyone who wants to discover their artistic side (recommended age: over 18 years old). This class is suitable for beginners and intermediate art enthusiasts.
Drawing at the Museum offers you the opportunity to get a deeper understanding of the creative process in an amazing setting, as you become part of the museum’s growing art community. The time spent by both an adult and a child creating a picture has a very good effect on a person. Drawing helps to focus attention on one thing and calmly bring it to the end. In this way, concentration abilities are developed that can be applied in any area. The feeling of anxiety decreases, a person tunes in to positive emotions. Art can have an amazing effect on the human body.
The Museum Educator has a thirty minute investigation of some artwork with a small group, developing sketching skills and learning about different aspects of drawing. Looking at ancient ceramics and reliefs, the participants find out about form and perspective, explore the complexity of the human form, examine light and shade, enjoy the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s dome and amazing architecture. The two-hour visit ends with a group discussion: the members of the class can critically analyse, share their thoughts and discuss ideas.
Participants are kindly asked to bring their own sketchbooks and pencils or a tablet.
Visitors are asked to book their place in advance as spaces are limited to 15 participants per session. The full price is AED 81.50. Art Club members, teacher/ youth pass holders and DCT staff can get the reduced price – AED 40.
