Christie’s has a position at the forefront of innovation in the art world. It is the first auction house to register a sale on a blockchain platform. The role and potential impact of emerging technologies in the art world will be the theme of an annual conference: the Christie’s Art + Tech Summit.
Christie’s brings its Art+Tech Summit to the Middle East for the first time, previous conferences took place in New York, Hong Kong and London. The conference will be held on the 2 March and will be a part of the Art Dubai fair, which will take place in Dubai on 1-5 March 2023.
Christie’s Art + Tech Summit attracts the top minds and tech innovators from various industries. The introductory part is dedicated to blockchain, other sessions highlight a different technology each year. The focus this year is to explore the areas of AI-Artificial Intelligence: digital asset ownership, financial innovation and Blockchain. The conference will bring together international creators and collectors across art and technology for a day programme of lectures, talks, panel discussions and networking opportunities. The programme of the conference shows Christie’s commitment to lead the dialogue about the role and impact of technologies in the art world. Past participants and attendees have included Galaxy Digital, TIME, Microsoft, Artsy, Deloitte, the Serpentine Galleries, ConsenSys and the Financial Times.
International speakers include participants from Google and Microsoft and top industry digital artists and collectors. Leading regional speakers including Mudassir Sheikha, CEO and Founder of Careem and Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State of Education and Advance Technology; Chairwoman of the UAE Space, will take part in the conference as well.
